TRAILERS

I believe in the power of a trailer to elevate a story and ignite an audience before they ever press play. A great trailer is not simply scenes cut together, it is purposeful storytelling. It carries responsibility. It shapes first impressions and sets the emotional tone for everything that follows.

For me, editing a trailer is where instinct meets precision. It is about intention, rhythm, and emotion. It is about finding the moments that matter and shaping them through music and pacing until they resonate. A trailer should stand confidently on its own while remaining deeply rooted in the heart of the film.

Trailers matter because they are the first promise a story makes to its audience.

Cod Story

SHORT FILM (2022)

Role: Editor

Cod Story is an environmental documentary that asks questions about our relationship with nature and natural resources through the case study of the 1992 cod fisheries collapse in Newfoundland and Labrador.

I had the privilege of being an editor for this documentary. Through the process I grew in appreciation for those in the fishing industries, and what the events that happened in 1992 caused for so many. Our goal for this film is to shine a light on this topic, and inspire others to not only take away its messages, but to help be a part of the change we can create, and are creating today.

I was asked to create the film’s trailer, which has been submitted to multiple film festivals around the world.

Cod Story is an official selection of Forest City Film Festival, Wildlife Conservation Film Festival, Lunenburg Doc Fest, and Hawaii International Film Festival.
